As a manager with A.T. Kearney, you will manage the day-to-day direction of a client project, including structuring and leading teams of consultants, ensuring project work is continually on track, delivering superior end products to the client, and adhering to budgets and schedules, while maintaining high utilization.

Being a successful manager and leader of talented, driven, and creative professionals in a matrixed work environment is a must. You should excel at motivating, and developing people will be a key component for success in this role.

 

New managers participate in the intensive Leadership Quest program, which is designed to provide an orientation for the manager role within the firm and an update of the consulting, project management, business development, and account management processes, as well as other firm processes relevant to managers. There are also various opportunities for specialized training to develop industry, process, and product expertise. All training activities are designed specifically to build the increasingly complex skill set required for career advancement.

 

No two client engagements are alike, but as a manager, you will always work with, rather than on, clients. We value collaboration highly. Typical responsibilities include consult on and manage day-to-day direction of a client project which includes structuring and leading teams of consultants, ensuring project work is continually on track, delivering superior end products to the client, and adhering to budgets and schedules while maintaining high utilization.

Qualifications

 

What We Seek

There is no standard model for the role of A.T. Kearney manager. We are looking for talented problem solvers who are ready to contribute as a full member of the client team. Managers are collaborative by nature, with professional presence and business acumen, and are involved in every phase of a consulting engagement, from pre-proposal research through final implementation. The ability to lead by example and inspire and manage a group of talented, driven, and creative professionals to deliver results in a matrixed work environment is essential, and developing people is a key component for success in this role.

 

Our managers have excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, are self-directed and team-oriented, thrive on challenge, and are adept at building and sustaining meaningful relationships, both externally and internally.


The following qualifications are preferred:
- MBA graduates from top-tier institutions are strongly preferred
- Five to eight years of progressive work experience with Fortune 500 companies
- Prior consulting experience mandatory, preferably at a top-tier management consulting firm
- Previous experience in leading and managing teams
- Work experience in operations, strategy/marketing/sales, and organization and transformation
- Experience in one of the following industries: automotive, communications, media and technology, consumer products and retail, energy and process industries, financial institutions, pharma and healthcare, public sector, transportation, or utilities
