Job Description

Kearney is a top tier management consulting company with global presence in more than 40 countries. The role of Enterprise Data Administrator is part of the Kearney global IT team. The main responsibilities of this position will be to provide core database administration, operation, and maintenance tasks on the firm’s primary SQL-based relational database system resources. The future holder of the role must understand the importance of database integrity both in terms of efficiency and security. The ideal candidate will be able to function effectively with limited oversight and moderate training on the unique configurations and operational requirements of our specific database environments.


Responsibilities

  • Design, document, install and configure new and existing database servers
  • Build database scheme, tables, procedures, and permissions
  • Create and maintain existing shell scripts for task automation
  • Tune, maintain and oversee operation of managed database resources in a healthy and secure manner
  • Design and oversee the backup, archiving and disaster recovery operations regarding managed database resources
  • Monitor and tune database resources for optimal stability, availability, and performance
  • Provide advanced technical support and problem identification and resolution for our database resources
  • Install new server instances and test upgrades and patches
  • Work with system administrators to ensure that monitoring and escalation procedures are in place and adhered to
  • Regularly perform system administration and problem remediation activities outside of normal US business hours
  • Remain available to respond and address emergency outage or performance issues with managed databases
  • Participate in cross-training programs and ongoing technical training programs as required


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • ≥5 years of professional experience or leadership
  • Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory
  • Familiarity with both Windows 10/Server and Red Hat Linux OS environments
  • Knowledge and experience with Oracle, MySQL and MSSQL database environments
  • Familiarity with SAP (Hana), PeopleSoft HR, and SalesForce environments a strong plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance while positively contributing to team goals and priorities
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively within a globally dispersed team
