About Kearney’s Global Business Policy Council
Established in 1992 by Kearney’s Chairman Emeritus Paul Laudicina, the Global Business Policy Council (GBPC) is a strategic service within Kearney designed to help leaders anticipate and plan for the future. From its onset, the Council was meant to address critical over-the-horizon issues of particular relevance to business, reflecting Kearney’s enduring commitment to promote world-class strategic foresight and leadership.
The GBPC Carries Out Its Mandate By
- Sponsoring world-class meetings of business leaders to assess current and future business conditions;
- Generating cutting-edge analysis of relevant political, economic, and business issues; and
- Providing clients with specific strategic advisory services, including global foresight, scenario analysis, strategic planning, risk management, competitiveness assessments, and issue “deep dives.”
About The Role
The Specialized Management Consultant works with the Council and Kearney Foresight team and supports operations in all three of the mandate areas identified above.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have superior writing ability, effective communication skills, and an analytical mindset. You will need to be inventive, versatile, clever, collaborative, and open to developing and sharing creative ideas, approaches, and strategies. Attention to detail and consistency is a must.
The Specialized Management Consultant has responsibility for supporting all areas of the Council’s work, including:
- Intellectual capital: Conduct research and analysis in support of the GBPC’s many thought leadership products. This role will include a dedicated focus to supporting routine short-form pieces providing original insights on forward-looking business-relevant trends.
- Macroeconomic projections: Support the GBPC’s scenario and other forecasting activity as needed, using projections to reflect anticipated shifts in the operating environment.
- Advisory services: Support select Council and Kearney Foresight client engagements as needed.
- GBPC activities and initiatives: Develop Council presentations, videos, qualifications, proposals, client briefings, etc. as assigned; conduct research and analysis; support GBPC event design and execution; other ad hoc project work upon request.
- Support of Kearney practices: Provide GBPC support to priority Kearney consulting practices, as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following attributes:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
- Background in international politics and macroeconomics, including bachelor’s and graduate degree in relevant field
- Experience in writing short-form articles for external publication
- Broad (and ideally deep) knowledge of global affairs, public policy, and international business trends
- Demonstrated analytical skills and capacity to integrate diverse inputs
- Demonstrated writing ability
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Strong production capabilities in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for taking on a dynamic portfolio of responsibilities
