Purpose of Position

The MEA DEI Manager role will focus on implementing the global DEI strategy in the region, as well as developing and implementing initiatives cross-functionally in MEA to attract, hire and maintain a diverse workforce, and create an equitable and inclusive workplace. The DEI manager will create a strong connection with the global team on central projects, as well as support mechanisms to track and report on progress and impact. The manager should be aligned on best practices and shared approaches. Further, the DEI manager will oversee the regional employee affinity Networks to support integrated planning and intersectional execution. The role is primarily internally focused, however, the manager may contribute to external initiatives, as required.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

 

Project Management and Event Planning Develop a DEI action plan and translate this into an activity calendar, track progress across work streams and report to relative stakeholders

-        Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative programs and strategies to foster the organization’s diversity, equity and inclusion goals

-        Identify organizations, event sponsorships, engage in DEI or industry events, employee meetings, engage with community partners, etc. to increase our DEI impact and efforts

 

Culture and Best Practices

-        Operate as a key contributor to the Global DEI Core Team, bringing the MEA perspective into global DEI projects; lead the implementation of global initiatives in the region

-        Work closely with operational and functional teams to design and implement a strategy and programs that achieve our regional representation aspirations

-        Collaborate with external partners and internal functions to design and deliver DEI learning

-        Review current practices, systems and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or hinder the company’s diversity goals. Codify into best practices and processes.

-        Steward the affinity networks; champion the growth and strategic impact of the networks across MEA

-        Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, local legislation, and best practices.

-        Partner with MS teams to provide guidance on key processes and policies – e.g., performance and other employee evaluations, recruiting, benefits, staffing.

-        Act as an SME for recruiting and retention initiatives.

-        Connect DEI initiatives with other wider Kearney firm building streams

 

DEI Reporting and Communication

-        Define KPIs and targets to evaluate the company’s progress against diversity, equity and inclusion aspirations and goals and works with the technical teams to set up systems for effective reporting; engage with stakeholders to design and implement strategies to address gaps

-        Partner with Marketing to generate innovative and engaging communications, including recruiting materials, social media posts, and marketing campaigns.

-        Support communication and outreach efforts, to strengthen advocacy and external recognition.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Communication Skills

-        Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven influencing and change management skills, particularly with senior stakeholders.

-        Thorough understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion – language and strategies.

-        A high level of self-awareness, empathy, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

-        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Technical Skills

-        Well versed in project-management capabilities, managing cross-cutting projects, coordinating deadlines, and supporting multiple stakeholders.

-        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-        Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

 

Previous Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in DEI, People Care and/or Change Management

Previous professional services experience preferred
