The Energy Transition Institute

Founded in the Netherlands as a nonprofit organization, the Kearney Energy Transition Institute (ETI) studies global trends in energy transition and strategic implications for private sector businesses as well as public sector institutions.

Energy transition will result in seismic shifts across the energy value chain and offer new opportunities for industries such as oil and gas, utilities, equipment manufacturers, automotive and transportation, finance, tech companies, and start-ups. Navigating this rapidly changing energy landscape requires a strong understanding of key energy stakeholders and technological advances. The Kearney Energy Transition Institute is dedicated to providing objective technological insights and exploring how businesses may capture the opportunities that arise and address the challenges faced in this complex setting.

The Energy Transition Institute is an independent non-profit entity with strong links to leading academics on energy transition globally. The Institute is governed by its own board. Its activities are overseen by an eight-member board and a scientific committee comprised of highly experienced individuals and academics in natural and applied sciences, business, and petroleum engineering.

Join us as an intern

As a junior analyst, the intern will participate first-hand in the research activities of the ETI. Under the supervision of a manager, the intern will be involved at all stage of the delivery process, including (i) data collection, literature review, possible interviews with stakeholders (e.g. academics, industry, international organization…), (ii) issue and data analysis (e.g. build issue tree, develop dummy pack, excel modeling…); (iii) and finally draft of the FactBook (i.e. draft slides, ensure quality control).

On top of the day-to-day research, the intern may, on an ad-hoc basis, be involved on the other activities of the ETI such as preparing “notes” for the management, supporting communication efforts, or assisting with presentation to the Board.
