Kearney, Staffing Manager, Dubai office (7 months FTC)
About the job
As the staffing manager for our Dubai office, you will Lead a high-performing staffing team and program (including processes and tools), ensuring efficient and effective resource allocation to support the successful delivery of client and internal projects while also promoting employee engagement and professional development.
Reporting directly to the MEA Staffing & Operations Director in Dubai, you will be given the freedom to be yourself along with recognition for what you bring to the table, allowing you make a real impact and be a true Kearney Original.
This role is a 7-month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover.
Key responsibilities
Overall Function Leadership
- Lead the Staffing department with day-to-day guidance and oversight.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the ME leadership, Partners and Principals, and key business partners as well as other global stakeholders in all Staffing matters. Support the director in function.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement e.g., process improvements, automation, documentation etc.
- Coach, train and support the ME staffing team across different levels of seniority.
- Organize and lead regular communication across all Staffing topics and stakeholders.
- Define and design reporting mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of the staffing function.
- Support the regional and unit leadership, the MEA staffing sponsor, and the global staffing director in the ongoing transformation of the Staffing & Operations function within the Kearney MEA region.
Resource Allocation
- Lead effective staffing of all billable resources (incl. of management consultants, several specialist groups and associated consultants) to billable and non-billable activities to optimally balance client requirements, consultant staffing preferences and firm economics.
- Act as point of escalation in case of staffing conflicts
- Organize and optimize all administrative tasks around staffing, leveraging SAP and global reporting tools.
- Lead recurrent revision and effective implementation of staffing policies, process, and guidelines, and ensure their consistency.
- Lead the application of the SAP staffing tool and other systems in the region, driving efficiencies and automation.
- Ensure proper usage of existing tools like CV and expert tracker.
- Ensure meaningful staffing opportunities for all resources by actively managing staffing priorities, discount programs, rotation, and practice alignment.
Business planning
- Work closely together with the business, operations and finance to provide visibility on commercial indicators and to identify corrective actions where needed.
Capacity management
- In collaboration with HR and Operations, develop and implement capacity management tools and processes to optimally steer the number and mix of consultants to best serve the business needs in the long and short run.
- Closely collaborate with international counterparts to identify opportunities for import/export to meet client needs and balance resource availability.
Talent development
- Work hand-in-hand with the HR function to be an active supporting party in the full consultant talent development process.
- Actively support the performance cycle by providing input to talent reviews and defining and implementing action plans to drive employee development.
- Ensure implementation of talent development measures (e.g., rotations)
Talent retention and employee wellbeing
- Support the HR function through various means to increase consultant well-being and retention.
- Increase visibility on staffing opportunities and drive employee awareness on effective staffing strategies.
- Actively protect training and leave planning of employees.
Staffing Improvement Initiatives
- SAP optimization, including tagging, investments, and BD requests.
- Internal staffing tools and reporting - streamlining and automation.
- Rotation implementation
- Activation of CST

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or other relevant field, with 7+ years of business experience required. MBA would be a plus.
- Are fluent in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Arabic know is a plus.
- Have ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a challenging, fast-paced, and growth environment.
- Have ability to communicate with all levels of staff; displays customer service-oriented behavior.
- Have appropriate discretion handling confidential information and personal data.
- Understand specifics and dynamics of Staffing & Operations activities.
- Possess team management skills.
- Have broad and in-depth expertise in resource management, conflict resolution and talent development.
- Have an analytical background, a mix of business sense, HR and Finance understanding.
- Are pragmatic and well-organized with attention to details.
- Are pro-active and self-managing with ability to react and adapt to change quickly.
- Have Advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation experience with the ability to turn data into insights
- Have exposure to big data analysis, trend analyses, and process improvements required.
