Job Description

PERLab Manager- Electronics

As a PERL Manager at Kearney, you will lead engagements and major work streams while serving as the day-to-day senior client counterpart. You will bring a strong consulting toolkit together with tangible experience in technology, electronics, engineering, procurement, sourcing or supply chain. You will take broad objectives, build the context needed to move forward, lead teams and translate technical evidence into practical recommendations—using AI to accelerate the work while retaining ownership of the answer.

In this role, you will be a commercially minded problem solver who can move comfortably between product and engineering detail, cost and supplier analysis, client leadership and team development. You will be expected to bring meaningful management consulting experience at some point in your career; exceptional industry candidates with clear consulting potential may also be considered.

What you will do

  • Take broad strategic, product, engineering, cost, sourcing and supply-chain questions and independently convert them into clear work plans, hypotheses and learning agendas.

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage day-to-day client relationships, including alignment on objectives, priorities, decisions and next steps.

  • Define the business and technical questions to be addressed through benchmarking, teardown, should-cost and design-to-value analyses.

  • Integrate technical, market, supplier, cost and financial findings into coherent recommendations and practical implementation implications.

  • Lead interviews, working sessions, workshops and executive presentations with clients, suppliers, technical specialists and senior stakeholders.

  • Coach junior consultants and create an effective working model with India-based engineers and other technical specialists.

  • Learn unfamiliar problem areas quickly, use AI and specialist input selectively, and avoid defaulting to a familiar methodology or functional solution.

  • Review analyses and outputs for logical integrity, evidence quality, client relevance and executive clarity.

  • Support proposal development, client development and practice-building activities, including points of view, recruiting and knowledge development.

What you bring

  • Typically 5+ years of professional experience, including meaningful management consulting experience at some point in the career.

  • Evidence of leading teams or major work streams in analytically intensive, client-facing environments.

  • Tangible experience with electronics, hardware products, semiconductors, engineering, product cost, procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain or related product value creation.

  • Strong structured problem solving, synthesis and self-direction; able to frame unfamiliar problems and make progress without detailed instructions before jumping to solutions.

  • Clear, concise and professional communication with clients and teams, including the ability to make technical issues accessible to senior decision makers.

  • Strong collaboration and listening skills; uses internal and external expertise as inputs to the answer rather than substitutes for personal synthesis and team problem solving.

  • Demonstrated openness to feedback and ability to adjust when evidence, team input or validated AI-assisted analysis challenges an initial view.

  • Ability to balance analytical depth with pace, judgment and commercial practicality.

  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA or relevant advanced technical degree preferred.

Who You Are

After 100 years, we know this business is fundamentally about making connections—between facts, figures, insights, strategies, tools, technologies, and above all, people. That’s why we look for collaborative, insightful, and inquisitive problem-solvers who don’t accept the first thing in front of them and who are always unapologetically themselves.

What we can offer you

Every day, our people work to be the difference for our clients, our communities, and our colleagues. Helping them to make an impact, they are sustained by a competitive remuneration package plus comprehensive benefits and perks, including but not limited to:

  • Generous retirement/pension saving contributions

  • Comprehensive medical insurance for employees and their families

  • Structured and on-the-job learning and development opportunities

  • Personalized opportunities to help you chart a unique journey to pursue your own personal and professional goals
