TEAMS Product Analysis Technician

As a Product Analysis Technician at TEAMS Chicago, you will be a key contributor to the growth and development of our studio as we support the delivery of high-quality product analysis, teardown, and documentation work for our clients.
Working alongside a dedicated and diverse group of experts across product design, UX design, and strategic design, you will support hands-on product analysis activities that help inform client work and innovation efforts. This is a full-time, on-site role in Chicago beginning in July 2026.
Through unique hands-on experiences, you will broaden your technical knowledge across product construction, materials, and benchmarking while developing relationships with colleagues across the studio. Key responsibilities:
Product Analysis and Documentation
- Support product teardown, benchmarking, and documentation activities
- Disassemble and evaluate products using hand tools and shop tools
- Take measurements and record dimensional data accurately
- Document findings clearly through photos, notes, and spreadsheets
- Track parts and maintain an organized, tidy working environment
- Follow repeatable technical processes for analysis and documentation
- Handle materials safely and use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Protect confidential client and competitive product information
Technical Execution and Process Discipline
- Support repeatable product analysis workflows with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
- Work with basic materials, finishes, fasteners, and manufacturing methods in support of product analysis
- Apply sound mechanical judgment to product assembly and disassembly activities
- Flag issues clearly and summarize findings in a structured way

- Have high proficiency with Office 365, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Are comfortable using measuring tools and recording dimensional data
- Are comfortable with hand tools, shop tools, and product disassembly
- Are mechanically minded, with familiarity in product assembly and disassembly workflows
- Can document findings clearly through photos, notes, and spreadsheets
- Are familiar with basic materials, finishes, fasteners, and manufacturing methods
- Are safety-conscious and comfortable handling hazardous materials with proper PPE
- Are able to follow repeatable teardown, benchmarking, and documentation processes
- Are detail-oriented and highly accurate
- Are organized, tidy, and disciplined with part tracking
- Are system-minded and process-oriented
- Are mechanically curious and interested in how products are built
- Are patient, methodical, and comfortable with repetitive technical work
- Are reliable, timely, and able to follow direction well
- Are a clear communicator who can flag issues and summarize findings
- Respect confidential client and competitive product information
- Have strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Are a US citizen or hold a valid Green Card for the United States with at least three years of remaining eligibility

Compensation Range $60,000 to $65,000 It is important to note that at Kearney, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. Kearney reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness. In addition to salary, individuals may be eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.
