Kearney Activate Anaplan Model Builder

Job Description

As a Model builder within Kearney Activate in the Connected Planning Practice, you will help design and deliver best in class Anaplan solutions that replace home grown planning processes with scalable, high performing models. You will support end to end Anaplan implementations, partnering with project teams to gather requirements, contribute to solution architecture, develop optimized models, and support testing, deployment, and user adoption.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of data, planning, and business strategy, translating complex requirements into intuitive planning workflows and user experiences. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams, assist junior model builders in day to day delivery, and contribute to planning solutions that drive clarity, alignment, and measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end to end planning implementations from requirements gathering through design, build, testing, and training

  • Translate Excel based and home grown models into scalable multi dimensional planning platforms such as Anaplan, Hyperion, Cognos, TM1, or similar tools

  • Design, build, and maintain financial and operational models, dashboards, and reports

  • Provide subject matter expertise in financial and operational management systems, including advanced financial modeling

  • Manage shared services including metadata, security, task lists, rules, data forms, and planning artifacts

  • Design and manage data integrations and automation, including inbound and outbound data flows, batch scripting, and backup and recovery operations

  • Apply strong accounting fundamentals across profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow

  • Work with enterprise data sources including ERP systems and perform performance tuning to optimize solutions

  • Develop clear design documentation, functional specifications, test plans, and support system testing using established methodologies

  • Advise senior management, facilitate client process change, and collaborate within cross functional project teams

  • Leverage industry expertise across at least two verticals such as finance, pharma, or energy

Who You Are

We seek collaborative problem-solvers who value connections between facts, figures, strategies, and people. We want insightful individuals unafraid to question the status quo and embrace authenticity.

  • You have one to two years of experience in business consulting or system implementations using Anaplan, multi dimensional planning tools, or spreadsheet based solutions

  • You are comfortable working across technical and functional teams and collaborating closely with end users

  • You can translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions, with experience in requirements definition, business analysis, system integration, and interface design

  • You bring strong technical and analytical skills, including data troubleshooting and performance optimization

  • You have experience developing solution roadmaps, user stories, functional specifications, test plans, and tested scenarios using OUM methodology

  • You are a clear and confident communicator with strong written skills and experience engaging stakeholders at multiple levels

  • You are a collaborative team player who works efficiently, manages multiple priorities, and thrives in fast paced environments

  • You have exposure to at least two industry verticals such as finance, pharma, or energy
