Job Description

Kearney Activate Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant

As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant within Kearney Activate, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, and delivering tailored Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions that enable clients to execute highly personalized, data-driven marketing strategies. This role blends hands-on technical development with functional consulting, supporting clients across the full project lifecycle—from discovery and solution design through implementation, testing, and user enablement.

In this role, you will work closely with client stakeholders, marketing teams, and cross-functional delivery partners to translate business objectives into scalable Marketing Cloud architectures. You will contribute to end-to-end implementations, support data migrations, configure core Marketing Cloud modules, and ensure high-quality delivery through rigorous testing and client training. Your work will directly impact campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, and long-term platform adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with client stakeholders to define business needs, map customer journeys, and document functional and technical specifications.

  • Design, configure, and customize Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio, to meet diverse client requirements.

  • Build and manage complex audience segmentation and data extensions using SQL and AMPscript to enable personalized, high-impact marketing campaigns.

  • Lead data migration activities by analyzing source data structures, defining field mappings, and executing imports using Data Loader and FTP processes.

  • Develop comprehensive test cases and support system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solution stability and accurate troubleshooting.

  • Partner with project teams to support the full implementation lifecycle, including configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.

  • Design and deliver end-user training sessions and supporting documentation to enable client marketing teams and promote long-term adoption.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global delivery teams to ensure alignment across technical and functional workstreams.

Who You Are

We seek collaborative, detail-oriented consultants who enjoy working at the intersection of technology, data, and customer experience. You are comfortable engaging directly with clients, translating marketing goals into technical solutions, and balancing hands-on execution with structured delivery discipline.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience administering or developing within the Salesforce ecosystem, with a strong focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations.

  • Proven experience executing end-to-end Marketing Cloud configurations, including migrating subscribers from legacy platforms.

  • Hands-on experience designing and managing automated journeys using Journey Builder and/or Automation Studio.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into SQL-based audience segmentation for personalized marketing campaigns.

  • Experience developing dynamic and personalized subscriber experiences using AMPscript, including complex content blocks.

  • Exposure to cross-channel campaign execution, including MobileConnect (SMS) and Ad Studio.

  • Strong understanding of user setup, security profiles, and custom object configuration within the Salesforce platform.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with working knowledge of SDLC concepts and Agile delivery methodologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience facilitating client-facing workshops and collaborating with distributed teams.

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Marketing Cloud Consultant certification is highly preferred; Salesforce Administrator or Developer certifications are a plus.

  • Bonus experience includes Salesforce APIs, enterprise integrations, and custom end-user system deployments.
