Summary of position
Reporting to the SEA Financial Controller, this position will be responsible for the delivery of the day-to-day financial and tax reporting for Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The role is very challenging and diverse providing exposure to the diverse ways of working in South East Asia – one of the fastest growing regions in the world.
Main duties
Month end closing with support from shared services, ensuring reporting is aligned with Global Accounting Manual and local country’s GAAP rules.
Review and ensure that accruals/JVs put through are accurate and complete. Check for omissions/errors in invoices raised/JVs put through.
Maintain Fixed Asset Register and provide support for new assets tracking
Review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with local GAAP and tax reporting purposes
Intercompany invoicing and tax implications
Collaborate with external auditors during annual financial statement audits
Coordinate all direct tax and indirect tax computations, submissions and compliance
Handle ad-hoc projects, such as tax audits.
Provide guidance to team members on work procedures relating to the use of systems (SAP) and resolution of work related problems.
Discuss and liaise with business on accounting treatment for their business process/initiatives
Communicating with multiple stakeholders across the firm and at all levels of the management structure
Supporting the team in any ad-hoc matters or projects
What we seek
A good degree in finance or accountancy
2 to 3 years of Big 4 experience is ideal, with another 2 to 3 years of working experience in similar capacity. Experience with professional services firms is a plus.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline oriented environment
Ability to work independently or part of a team
Good working knowledge of IFRS and comfortable with direct and indirect tax rules
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
