The Kearney Consumer Institute (KCI) is a think tank that evaluates today’s business challenges and opportunities through the eyes and experiences of consumers, advocating a consumer-first perspective.

About the Role

The KCI Manager will generate conversation, and ultimately, action around how to address consumer needs with meaningful benefits. This individual will be responsible for leading the commercialization of the Kearney Consumer Institute globally, with an aim to provide a differentiated source of consumer-centric information and inspiration, driven through conversation.  A hybrid external marketing and internal content role, this individual will partner with the KCI Lead on original content pieces on a regular basis that reflect thoughtful, provocative points of view from a consumer lens. They will contribute to client engagements through discussions and workshops while also building a community of executives and like-minded professionals through strategic outreach.

Responsibilities

·       Demonstrate creativity and enthusiasm for the consumer and building Kearney Consumer Institute global expertise; comfort operating in the ambiguity that will entail

·       Create/amplify original, custom content on a recurring basis that is provocative and ownable to the Kearney brand; develop regular briefings and newsletters

·       Build KCI client network and insights community via regular outreach and conversations

·       Manage/lead executive subscription programming to build community and KCI network

·       Run consumer research regularly, including surveys and ethnographies, to maintain current knowledge of consumer and build out data repository for firm

·       Utilize multimedia approaches such as video, audio, and visuals to enrich content

·       Partner with client teams and connect with practice to drive conversation with clients; develop custom materials for client conversations, projects, proposals, and workshops as needed

·       Liaise with global consumer practice to customize content by region

·       Identify opportunities to speak or participate in leading industry conferences to exhibit content and expertise; support content development

·       Amplify the use of and increase access to KCI materials by consultants across the CIRP community

·       Collaborate with Kearney marketing to amplify and build the KCI and overall Kearney brands

Qualifications

·       At least 5-8 years of experience in brand management, marketing, and/or consulting

·       Demonstrated passion for the consumer and consumer-facing industries, including CPG and retail

·       Bachelor’s degree required

·       MBA from a top tier institution, a plus

·       Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate concisely and effectively for both internal meetings with senior practice leadership and c-suite level clients, and through external media interviews and conferences

·       Encourage use of personal social media as a platform and brand tool to represent the KCI

·       Comfort collaborating across global regions

·       Excel and PowerPoint skills

·       Consumer survey / research experience, a plus
