The Mergers, Acquisitions, and Ventures (MAV) Team is a critical part of Kearney’s strategy execution and pivot towards creating (new) client value delivered through smarter combinations of complementary capabilities.  As part of the MAV team - Alliances (Partnerships) are a key pillar of the firm’s strategy to bring the best of the outside and the best of Kearney to clients.

 

Kearney is seeking an experienced candidate with relevant and recent strategy consulting and Alliance management experience, with a focus on Strategic Operations / Supply Chain, to help the firm achieve its inorganic ambitions. The candidate will own the end-to-end development and commercialization of ecosystem partnerships.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with Alanna Klassen Jamjoum (Partner and Head of Global Alliances), Rob Evans (Strategic Operations Alliance Leader), and other MAV team members in a collaborative, flat team set up. This position is highly visible across Kearney’s leadership teams.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

 

Lead selected relationships in the Strategic Operations Eco-system:

Set strategy with relevant practices and alliances for joint GTM, development of value propositions, marketing activities and internal enablement
Provide oversight (in collaboration with consulting leaders) to execution of strategy
In some instances, lead development of joint commercial and marketing activities
Monitor and measure activity, conduct periodic reviews, and ensure client impact
Maintain relationships with strategic partners
 

Curate and manage an alliance portfolio for select strategic operations practice areas (e.g. Plan, Source, Make or Deliver); working closely with the Practice Alliance Leader and Consulting practice leaders:

Identify ‘practice capability needs’ to be enabled by 3rd parties, conduct a gap analysis and define the target portfolio
Conduct market scan, selection, pilots and formalization of relationships
Collaborate with the practice to commercialize and scale relationships – including client go to market, internal and external marketing
Monitor and measure activity, conduct periodic reviews
 

Lead regional focus for Strategic Operations alliances:

Engage with Region / unit leaders to identify priorities
Facilitate and ensure communication and awareness of alliance capabilities across regions
Additional Functions and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Alliance team members to contribute to and continually improve Alliance Management processes, tools and communications including:

Metrics and reporting
Internal communications and awareness
Intranet portal – including Alliance database
Knowledge management
Preparation of updates and presentations
 

Work closely with M&A team to identify potential Alliance candidates resulting from M&A searches

Ability to lead and influence at all levels of the org to drive change
Strong conceptual, analytic, and business judgement skills
Self-driven and results-oriented with strong organization skills and ability to prioritize in an ever changing/evolving landscape
Outstanding drive, energy, and confidence as well as ability to develop compelling, fact-based arguments
Comfortable and confident working in a virtual and distributed team across global time zones and cultures, a must
Open minded, mature, and team-oriented
 

Education

University degree (MBA preferred but not required)
 

Previous experience

5-7+ years overall experience; ideal candidate will have experience in both strategy consulting and managing partnerships in a strategy professional services domain OR experience managing partnerships for an industry leading Strategic Operations focused technology or services firm
Experience in a highly visible and strategic management function within a top-tier consulting or technology firm a plus
Technical Skills

Proficiency in entire Microsoft 365 suite including collaboration applications Teams, Planner, SharePoint, etcetera
