Job Description

A.T. Kearney, Inc. has multiple openings for Associate(s) in Chicago, IL (with extensive travel and/or possible relocation in unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.) to provide management-consulting services to private and public organizations. 

As an associate at Kearney, you will contribute to consulting project teams as they offer honest advice and practical guidance to our clients. Depending on each client’s unique needs, projects can differ in length, size and location, giving you unique, hands-on experiences across a range of industries and service practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data related to organizational studies and evaluations.
  • Conduct benchmarking, best practices, and competitor assessment studies.
  • Use advanced industry knowledge and possess expertise in business strategies and work to improve an organization's structure, efficiency, or profits.
  • Use break-through thinking techniques, including strategic planning and analysis, market analysis, strategic information technology, operations strategy, supply chain analysis and strategic sourcing analysis, to develop creative alternative solutions to CEO-level business problems.
  • Directly advise clients on business strategy to solve problems and transform operations.
  • Develop effective project plans and budgets, preparing status reports and addressing performance problems within the organization.
  • Apply cutting-edge business processes and technology to develop new and insightful analytical approaches 2025-to business situations and contribute to the development of intellectual capital for A.T. Kearney practice groups.
  •  Assign specific tasks to Business Analysts, making sure that the deliverables are scheduled and presented on time.
  • Headquarters of U.S. is in Chicago, IL (with extensive travel and/or possible relocation in unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.). Up to 80% domestic and/or international travel required. Telecommuting is permitted.

We want to hear from you if you have: 

  • Education Requirement:  Master’s degree or a foreign equivalent in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology or related field.
  • Work Experience Requirement: 1 year of experience in the field of Economics, Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology or related field.
  • Specific Skills or Other Requirements: Experience to include: 
    • Use Excel to gather and analyze large data sets, build reports and draw strategic insights;
    • Advise internal stakeholders or client stakeholders on top-line growth strategy, go-to-market strategy or large scale transformation;
    • Evaluate consumer insights, operations optimization or profit improvement and create detailed strategy documents and roadmaps for internal stakeholders or clients;
    • Develop insights about key industry trends including technology, competitors, consumers, regulatory, and inform the organization of strategic implications;
    • Conduct customer baselining and field research, including conducting research, gathering data, running quantitative and qualitative analyses, deriving insights and providing recommendations to internal stakeholders or clients;
    • Model business changes in supply chain and analyze results to steer market strategy;
    • Manage projects and define engagement approach and detailed plan for project execution, including key activities, timeline, and resources;
    • Present strategic insights, findings, recommendations and project summaries to senior leadership audiences.

  • Associate Compensation $188,000 - $194,000
    • It is important to note that at Kearney, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. Kearney reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.  In addition to salary, individuals may be eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.
