Purpose of the Job

The HR Administrator provides comprehensive support across the entire HR lifecycle, reporting to the HR Manager. This versatile role is responsible for delivering high-quality support for all people & culture initiatives, including onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, performance management, training, and culture events. As a foundational position that touches all aspects of HR, this role offers an excellent pathway to develop a rewarding career in human resources.

Key Responsibilities

General HR Support

  • Provide administrative support and project assistance for all HR-related initiatives
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS (PeopleSoft), including processing new hires, terminations, and transfers
  • Administer compensation and benefits matters with attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Support strategic HR projects including engagement surveys, culture events, recruitment days, and benefit reviews

Performance Management

  • Monitor and track performance management milestones to ensure timely completion
  • Support the full performance review cycle through report generation, scheduling, data preparation, system updates, and salary letter drafting

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate university recruiting activities, including events, presentations, application processing, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
  • Assist with candidate assessment, screening, and tracking during peak hiring periods
  • Conduct employment reference checks and background verifications for new hires
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate local training initiatives and support professional development programs
  • Support logistical arrangements for regional and global training sessions
  • Assist with training materials preparation and participant coordination
  • Track training completion and maintain development records

Key Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Good administrative and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently as a team member and manage many competing priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
  • Experience or good foundational abilities to navigate systems, including being able to input, extract, and analyse data.
  • Sound knowledge and interest in contemporary HR practices, concepts and relevant legislation
  • Effective problem-solving skills, self-driven and results-oriented
  • University Diploma, preferably university degree in HR, Psychology or a related field
  • Relevant HR experience in a related industry is beneficial
